Rules of Conduct
While using the Intranet, users must comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and NMDP/Be The Match policies and procedures, including but not limited to NMDP/Be The Match employment policies. This means, among other things, that users must access and utilize the Intranet with common sense, goodwill, and respect for others. Improper use of the Intranet may subject a user to discipline, up to and including termination of employment or contractual relationship with the NMDP/Be The Match or Be The Match Foundation.
Information Use and Security
Information, material, and content contained within the Intranet is restricted to NMDP/Be The Match internal use only. A user may use materials and content on the Intranet only for purposes related to the fulfillment of the user’s job duties and responsibilities. The disclosure, distribution, republication, or sharing of any information contained on the Intranet with individuals or entities other than authorized Intranet user(s) is strictly prohibited without prior approval of NMDP/Be The Match Senior Management. This includes framing or mirroring any part of the Intranet, systematically downloading and storing any content, putting the content in a database, or republishing it to any person or persons in any form. Users are prohibited from releasing any Intranet user ID, password, or password-related information to any individual or entity other than the Intranet administrator.
Ownership of Intranet Content
NMDP/Be The Match Senior Management, in consultation with the Intranet administrator, holds final and sole decision-making authority regarding the posting and/or removal of any content or materials at any time without prior notice. The NMDP may change or remove, either temporarily or permanently, the Intranet or any part of it at any time and without prior notice.
Information contained on the Intranet is not a substitute for a doctor’s medical judgment or advice. The NMDP/Be The Match recommends that specific, individual health concerns be discussed with the individual’s physician or health care professional. Any medical materials and discussions presented on the Intranet describe current treatment options and drugs or treatments that may be under study, and are for informational purposes only. Treatment options or donation procedures should be determined by an individual and his or her treating physician based on the individual’s overall health, age, disease, disease stage, and, if transplant is being considered as a treatment option, the availability of a suitably matched donor or cord blood unit.
