We can't do it without you
When you volunteer with Be The Match, you are helping blood cancer and blood disease patients get their cure—a blood stem cell transplant from a matching donor.
As a volunteer, you can truly impact the lives of patients and their families. Last year, volunteers gave more than 100,000 hours of their time. This commitment is vital to the life-saving work at Be The Match.
Choose what’s best for you
Every volunteer opportunity at Be The Match helps make a difference. Find something that aligns with your time and experience. This is a chance to turn your passion into action. You can do things like:
- Host a donor registration event. Organize an in-person or online event in your community. You’ll be connected with a Be The Match Representative who will provide everything you need for your event. Invite friends and family, colleagues or your local neighborhood to become life-saving blood stem cell donors.
- Support patients during their transplant journey. Patients or caregivers currently going through transplant will be connected with a volunteer mentor who’s been through the journey themselves as a transplant recipient or caregiver. As a volunteer, you’ll be there to listen, answer questions and share your own transplant experiences.
- Work with individuals preparing to donate blood stem cells. Donors currently in their donation journey will be matched with a volunteer mentor who has been through the donation process themselves. Current donors can ask past donors questions and learn from someone with firsthand experience.
Other ways you can help
Raise funds to save lives. Fundraise your way like celebrating a birthday, running a marathon or honoring a loved one. No matter what you choose, you’ll be delivering cures for blood cancer and blood disease. Create a fundraising page and every gift you receive will help add potential donors to the registry, help cover uninsured costs for patients and fund groundbreaking research.
Join our legislative advocacy efforts. Make your voice heard on critical issues important to the transplant community. Individuals like you are needed to advocate for legislation and policies affecting patients with blood cancers and blood disorders.
Inspire others through social media. Use your social media channels to share about Be The Match. Encourage your network to join the registry.
