In September, Be The Match® was honored to host five of our top high school HOSA, Future Health Professionals, chapters at the Be The Match Coordinating Center in Minneapolis. The chapters were from Texas, Florida, Utah, Arizona and California.

HOSA is a global student-led organization with a mission to empower future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community, through education, collaboration and experience. HOSA received our Grow Award at The ONE Forum® 2021—an industry conference presented by Be The Match.

HOSA chapters partner with Be The Match to save lives by recruiting potential donors to the Be The Match Registry® and fundraising. The goal is to grow and diversify the registry, provide financial support to patients and their families, and fund critical research to improve patient outcomes.

During their visit, the students toured the state-of-the-art Be The Match Biorepository. The biorepository stores research blood samples collected from adult donors and recipients whose transplants were facilitated through Be The Match.

The students had a chance to meet one another and learn tips and tricks on how to fundraise and recruit donors. They also attended a lunch panel session with Be The Match leadership before having the chance to explore Mall of America and attend a Twins game.
