If you spend time on social media, you probably already know about the power of influencers, gamers and Tik Tok dancers. Imagine what can happen when this extremely generous community works together for a cause they’re passionate about—saving lives. That’s the idea behind Stream The Match.

Stream The Match encourages livestream content creators to team up with Be The Match® to inspire their viewers and followers to help them raise life-saving funds. For two recent events, compassionate streamers joined forces to do just that.

LANFEST at Mall of America

On Sept. 17, Be The Match hosted a World Marrow Donor Day celebration at Mall of America, bringing blood stem cell recipients and donors together for a day of inspiration, registry recruitment and fun.

Highlights of the day included a livestream event hosted by LANFEST, a nonprofit organization that helps host community gaming events. Activities were featured on the home page of Twitch, a worldwide livestreaming platform for both gamers and non-gamers.

In the week leading up to the event, 20 content creators participated in livestream fundraising, including: NixxyWitchy, LorTheDestroyer86, Caya16, Breedo, DaCrzyMan, SharkimisAndFriends, Croudo, MajorLinux, Bee_bop4, Heatlash, Dannyfurbee, Ana Dik and Flexiss. Together the streamers raised nearly $5,000.

Thirty MSI gaming laptops in the Huntington® Bank Rotunda invited mall shoppers to test their skills at a little free play. Meanwhile, the Be The Match team encouraged attendees to join the Be The Match Registry® and make financial contributions to propel our life-saving mission.

Marrow transplant recipient, Laila, competed against her donor, Kenton, in an epic game of Fall Guys. The pair also sat for a Q&A session with emcees Thunder McFadden and Morgan Wolfe.

And to close the day, ten teams challenged each other in a live MultiVersus tournament.

Stream The Match was honored to be the only cancer-related nonprofit organization to be part of the DonorDrive Charity Arcade at TwitchCon San Diego, October 2022. The energy was out of this world thanks to the livestream fundraising universe shared with six other charities.

TwitchCon is a semi-annual gaming convention for the livestreaming video platform Twitch. At the DonorDrive Charity Arcade, content creators had the opportunity to meet with some of the most impactful nonprofits and learn how they can fundraise for these important causes.

With our generous community of gamers and content creators, we are innovatively growing our mission—and saving more lives.
