Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award nomination
In 2013, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR), a Department of Defense operational committee, received 61 requests from Minnesota Guard and Reserve members nominating their employers for this award, and one of them was for the NMDP. Deanna Rolfing, case manager, is a member of the National Guard and submitted the nomination. "I had only worked here a short time before I needed to take time off for the Guard," said Deanna. "I felt extremely supported by the organization as an employer and wanted to show it."
While NMDP was not one of the 15 employers who received a 2013 award, the organization was recognized for the nomination made by Deanna. In August, Thomas Simonet, a representative from the ESGR, visited the Executive Team Meeting and presented them with a certificate of recognition. Read more about The Freedom Award .
