The University of Kansas Cancer Center is a nationally recognized leader in the fight to treat and cure cancer. In 2022, our center achieved National Cancer Institute (NCI) Comprehensive Cancer Center designation, one of only 56 in the US. Blood and marrow transplant specialists at The University of Kansas Cancer Center are nationally recognized hematologists/oncologists. Through research and clinical trials, we constantly develop new therapies to save more lives. Our FACT accredited program has been performing allogeneic transplant since 1977 and has been an NMDP/Be the Match transplant center since 1994. Over the past decade, we have developed one of the largest bone marrow transplant and cellular therapeutics programs in the nation. We perform over 300 transplants annually, and we have performed over 5,000 transplants since 1977. We have performed over 300 CAR-T therapies since 2015.

This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1977 and has been an NMDP/Be The Match transplant center since September 1994.

This center's actual 1-year survival results are similar to the expected rate for this center.

The survival information we have for this center includes ONLY:

1. Patients who had their FIRST ALLOGENEIC transplant (cells from a related or unrelated donor/cord blood) during 2019, 2020, 2021, and
2. Who had their transplant at a U.S. transplant center, and
3. Who had follow-up information provided by the transplant center for analysis

The actual 1-year survival of these patients is 73.2%.

Compared to similar patients transplanted at all centers in the U.S., we expect that the 1-year survival for patients at this center to be in a range between 69.6% and 78.5%.
