Overview
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The program was founded in 1990 and is FACT accredited. Areas of interest are MDS/AML, BMT up to age 80 and GVHD relapse prevention and clinical trials.
This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1989 and has been an NMDP/Be The Match transplant center since May 1990.

At Moffitt Cancer Center, we understand that a blood and bone marrow transplant is a complicated procedure that requires a great deal of commitment on the part of a patient and their caregivers. As a result, we're here to provide comprehensive support to all of our transplant recipients, every step of the way. During the transplant process, patients will meet with Clinical Social Workers, who can assist with preparation and planning for the transplant experience. This includes assisting in the development of a caregiver plan, identifying lodging and financial resources, and offering emotional support to patients and caregivers as they navigate the process.
We understand that being diagnosed with cancer can be an emotional and distressing experience. That is why we are committed to you and your caregivers' well-being by treating the full range of needs, whether they are physical, spiritual or emotional. To fulfill this goal, we offer a wide selection of support services to our patients, their loved ones and the community, including Adolescent & Young Adult Program, Advance Care Planning, Language Services, Support Groups, Counseling, Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care, Integrative Medicine, Nutrition, Tobacco Treatment, Peer Support, Families First program for parents with cancer and their children, and Patient Library and Welcome Center. Our Arts In Medicine program gives a variety of opportunities to experience the therapeutic benefits of the arts during a challenging time. Our Lodging program offers support in identifying lodging options as well as lodging assistance to those in need. The American Cancer Society's Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Hope Lodge, located next to Moffitt, provides free, temporary lodging for patients who must travel to receive their treatment.
