Performs adult transplants


The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program was established in 1992 by Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center & University Medical Center (UMC) Hospital. The BMT hospital unit contains 6 inpatient beds. Outpatients are seen at the Southwest Cancer Treatment & Research Center, adjacent to UMC Hospital. THe BMT program has been FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) accredited since 2000 to perform autologous transplants. The program also performs sibling related donor, matched unrelated donor and cord blood transplants.

This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1993 and has been an NMDP transplant center since November 2003.
