The program is using blood and marrow transplants as an innovative therapy to treat a variety of malignant and non-malignant disorders. The transplant program continues to be a part of the Children's Oncology Group (COG), the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) and the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC). Nicklaus Children's Hospital is the only transplant program in Florida dedicated exclusively to the care of pediatric patients that is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1991 and has been an NMDP transplant center since May 2000.
