Overview

As the only tertiary children's hospital in the State of Hawaii, Kapi'olani Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of pediatric autologous and allogeneic transplants utilizing related, haploidentical, unrelated and cord blood donors. Our interprofessional team approach to family-centered care focuses on patient safety, optimal outcomes and patient/family satisfaction.

This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1997 and has been an NMDP/Be The Match transplant center since January 1978.

In addition to dedicated physicians and nurses, Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children's Transplant Team includes Behavioral Health, Child Life Specialists, Chaplains, an Educational Liaison, Integrative Services, Palliative Care, Patient Navigation / Social Work, Rehab Therapists and other specialists, as needed. Ronald McDonald House is a brief 10-minute drive from the facility and offers shuttle service to / from the hospital twice a day.
