The University of Mississippi Medical Center Blood and Marrow Transplant Program offers a range of blood and marrow transplant options for both adult and pediatric patients in Mississippi and surrounding areas. The Program offers a wide range of services including autologous, related and unrelated allogeneic, haploidentical, and cord blood transplants. Patients are treated for diseases including, but not limited to, leukemia, lymphoma, neuroblastoma, multiple myeloma, sickle cell, aplastic anemia, and other bone marrow failure syndromes. The Program offers both inpatient and outpatient services and also provides extacorporeal photopheresis. The Program has been continually accredited by FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) since 2002. Our physicians are committed to compassionate and quality care. Our patients receive care in facilities specially designed to meet standards of excellence.

This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1992 and has been an NMDP/Be The Match transplant center since March 1998.

The survival information we have for this center includes ONLY:

1. Patients who had their FIRST ALLOGENEIC transplant (cells from a related or unrelated donor/cord blood) during 2019, 2020, 2021, and
2. Who had their transplant at a U.S. transplant center, and
3. Who had follow-up information provided by the transplant center for analysis

The actual 1-year survival of these patients is 79.8%.

Compared to similar patients transplanted at all centers in the U.S., we expect that the 1-year survival for patients at this center to be in a range between 66.0% and 86.4%.
