CIT Ancillary Clinic operates on a medical home model with other disciplines embedded in the clinic i.e. Pulmonology, Adolescent Young Adult, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Psychiatry, and Neuro Oncology. Weekly clinical care conferences allow each patient to be evaluated by the clinical transplant, hematologic malignancy, and clinical research teams. This allows for a comprehensive review of all potential treatment options, including non-transplant therapies.

Caregiver classes are available online and nursing provides teaching at the bedside with patients and their caregivers. The Doorways offers the conveniences of home (thedoorways.org). Recommended $15 dollar donation per guest per day, referral necessary from VCUHS staff. Guests must live 30 miles or more from VCUHS. All Guests must have an adult caregiver present. Located 5 blocks from VCUHS. Free Shuttle service provided to and from VCUHS (8am- 5pm). After 5pm there is an after hours transportation service available.

Overall center survival

Patient survival information for this center

This center's actual 1-year survival results are below the expected rate for this center.

The survival information we have for this center includes ONLY:

  1. Patients who had their FIRST ALLOGENEIC transplant (cells from a related or unrelated donor/cord blood) during 2019, 2020, 2021, and
  2. Who had their transplant at a U.S. transplant center, and
  3. Who had follow-up information provided by the transplant center for analysis

For this center, we have survival information for 160 patients.

The actual 1-year survival of these patients is 71.0%.

Compared to similar patients transplanted at all centers in the U.S., we expect that the 1-year survival for patients at this center to be in a range between 72.5% and 84.8%.

For help with understanding these statistics, please see Understanding Transplant Outcomes.

For overall survival for all patients transplanted with a specific disease, please see U.S. Patient Survival report at bloodcell.transplant.hrsa.gov.
