ESPN - Cleveland / By Tony Grossi

December 03 2013

Reporter Tony Grossi shared the emotional story of Jim Donovan, the sportscaster dubbed the “Voice of the Browns,” and his first meeting with his bone marrow donor, Dallas Gentry. After 11 years of battling leukemia, Donovan was in need of a bone marrow transplant, which he was able to receive because Gentry answered the call as his donor. After a few years of long-distance communication, the Gentry and Donovan Families finally met in person for the first time, appropriately, on Thanksgiving. After the meeting, Gentry said, “To think that I saved someone…I just thank God every day I am blessed and the family I was raised in was a giving, loving, caring family. That’s who I got it from.”
