Barry Huff, senior vice president of marketing & communications and recruitment for Be The Match, provided a public affairs commentary that chronicled the organization’s efforts to recruit minority donors during African American Bone Marrow Awareness Month in July. Huff noted that sharing the stories of patients and donors is critical to engaging new volunteers. He also shared a successful donor registry drive on Capitol Hill, designed to inspire the continued congressional support of Be The Match. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) even joined the registry. Overall, Be The Match’s efforts nearly doubled the monthly number of African American registrants in July.
