Peer Connect Program
"She (my peer connection) was honest, yet stressed that her experience was "hers" and not to think mine would at all be the same. I had so much fun talking and listening to her. I felt like I was talking to an old friend. She put me so much at ease, acknowledged my fears and answered my questions. I could not be happier with how our conversation went."

If you have questions about transplant and would like to talk with someone who’s been there, our Peer Connect program can help. We’ll put you in touch with one of our trained volunteers — who are transplant recipients and caregivers — to answer your questions and share their own transplant experiences. The program is available to both transplant patients and caregivers and we will do our best to find someone that most closely matches your situation (based on age, disease, etc.) Talking with other transplant recipients and caregivers can help answer questions such as:
- How long did it take to recover?
- What should I bring to the hospital?
- What is your life like after transplant?
Volunteers are available to talk by phone or email. Request a connection now.

“There is nothing like speaking to someone who has already walked in your present shoes. She was able to explain the good and the bad, which calms the heart ahead of time.”

We are looking for additional transplant recipients and caregivers who would like to provide support to others preparing for or going through transplant. If you are at least 18 years old and one year after transplant, you may be able to serve as a peer volunteer. If you are interested in learning more, contact us at email@example.com.
