Connecting patients with life-saving bone marrow donors

Every four minutes, one person is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies from a blood cancer. That’s more than six people each hour, or 148 people each day. Patients are searching for a cure. It could be you.

Be The Match Registry® is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP), a nonprofit organization that’s dedicated to creating an opportunity for all patients to receive the marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant they need, when they need it. It is the largest and most diverse donor registry in the world. Our partnerships with international and cooperative registries provide doctors with access to 22.5 million potential donors and 601,000 cord blood units worldwide.

We need donors like you to help be the cure

Seventy percent of all patients who need a transplant don’t have a matched donor in their family. A patient’s likelihood of finding a matching donor on the Be The Match Registry is estimated to range from 76-97%, depending on race and ethnicity. Our donor and cord blood registries can only continue to grow if people like you sign up to become a member of the registry or donate your baby’s umbilical cord blood. Because of you, more patients will be able to receive a life-saving transplant.

You can make a difference – whether through bone marrow donation, giving a financial gift or volunteering – and turn the impossible into the achievable for a patient in need of a cure.

You never know when you could be the cure. Join the Be The Match Registry today.
